Tasks such as mowing the lawn, or picking up a frozen pizza at the grocery store, are some of the many seemingly-mundane things you’ll be performing that easily devolve into acts of absolute absurdity.

Moving his arm and legs feels a lot more natural than I first thought, but it’s still awkward enough to land Octodad into some sticky, yet quite hilarious situations. You control Octodad, which is both humourous, and not as frustrating as you’d think - though there are moments where you will get frustrated. In all honesty, Octodad: Dadliest Catch‘s gameplay couldn’t be further away from what you’d find in one of Quantic Dream’s adventures. And the best part of all? It doesn’t control like some quantic fever dream.
Death road to canada octodad movie#
As much as Octodad: Dadliest Catch is a game centred around its mechanics, it became harder and harder to deny the fact that it would make a great movie as I made it further and further into the game. But of all the games that would actually be good as a movie, I never thought any of them would star an octopus masquerading as a human husband and father. Videogames just don’t translate into movies very well and why should they? They’re two completely different things. When movies are made out of videogame franchises, I don’t know a single person who gets excited.
